KWARA L-PRES TAKES SENSITIZATION EXERCISE TO TRADITIONAL RULERS

In its continuous drive to ensure a smooth implementation of Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) in the state, the Kwara State Cordinating office has moved its Sensitization Campaign exercise to the Traditional Rulers, with a view to sensitizing them on the Project Development Objectives (PDO).

Addressing the Ifelodun Traditional Council in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State, the State Project Coordinator (SPC), Mr. Olusoji Oyawoye informed the traditional rulers that the project has the capacity to reduce Herders/Farmers conflicts, minimize rural-urban migration by creating job opportunities for the people in the livestock value chain, provide windows of opportunities for market linkage as well as creating business opportunities for both direct and indirect investors in the state.

Mr. Oyawoye, who appreciated the Royal Fathers for their dedication and commitment to the development of the state, solicited more support for the successful implementation of the project and others in their respective communities.

Responding on behalf of the Council, the Elese of Igbaja, Oba Ahmed Babalola Awuni Arepo II, who also doubles as the Chairman, Ifelodun Traditional Council, appreciated the administration's of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the laudable project and assured that the traditional rulers under his leadership, would give the necessary support for the success of the project in the area.

In his contribution, the Olupako of Share, Oba Haruna Olawale Suleiman Adegbite, who highlighted some of the impacts the project tend to make in the livestock sector of the Country, urged the Monarchs at the meeting to give the project the needed support.
