NETWORK KWARA: KWSG LAUNCHES INITIATIVE TO KEEP CITIZENS WELL-INFORMED

In a dedicated effort to ensure the public is well-informed about government programmes and policies, the Kwara State Government has launched a campaign to improve the flow of information to the people of Kwara and the entire nation.

During an appearance on the inaugural episode of "Network Kwara," a live television programme on Kwara State Television Authority (Kwara TV), sponsored by the Ministry of Communications, the State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, highlighted the government's commitment to transparency and accountability.

Hon. Olukoju emphasised, "Under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, our government is fully committed to its responsibilities. It is crucial for the public to stay updated on the initiatives, activities, and achievements of this administration. To achieve this, the Ministry of Communications has initiated the sponsorship of this programme."

She further disclosed that the programme's primary purpose is to bridge the communication gap between the government and the people of Kwara State. "Network Kwara" will air every Wednesday from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. and will feature heads of various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) providing updates on government policies and activities within their respective domains.

Hon. Olukoju also highlighted the diversification of the state's economy, led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Notable initiatives, such as the Visual Arts Centre, Sugar Film Factory, KwaraLEARN Programme, The Garment Factory, Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment programme (AGILE), the ICT Innovation Hub, renovations of General Hospitals, and Primary Health Care Centres, demonstrate the government's substantial investments in the creative industry, education, ICT, and healthcare improvements.

In addition to economic diversification, the Commissioner informed the public about the state's growing focus on the tourism sector. This effort involves the development of tourist attractions and the promotion of cultural heritage to boost tourism in Kwara.
