SAFETY OF LIVES REMAINS KEY PRIORITY OF KWSG - COMMISSIONER

...appeals to Kwarans to obey rules and regulations of FRSC.

The Kwara State Government has again reaffirmed it's commitment to the safety of lives and properties of citizens through an enduring partnership with the
Federal Road Safety Corps in the State.

The Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. John Bello Olarewaju stated this in his office while receiving the Sector Commander of the Corps in the State, Corps Commander Fredrick Ade Ogidan, and his team during his courtesy visit.

Hon. Olarewaju urged Kwarans to obey the traffic rules and regulations laid down by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to avoid car crashes and accidents. 

He reiterated the state government's commitment to the safety of the lives and properties of Kwarans, assuring the FRSC that the State Government was willing to provide necessary working tools for them.

The Commissioner who appreciated the Federal Road Safety Kwara Commander and his team for the visit, applauded them on their efforts on the drastic reduction of car accidents in the state.

In his remarks, The Director of Operations, Engr. Oloruntoyin Tunde Zubair welcomed the Sector Commander and his team and appreciated their efforts and commitment to discharging their duties.

Earlier in his remarks, The Sector Commander of FRSC Kwara State, Corps Commander Fredrick Ade Ogidan congratulated the Commissioner on his new appointment and prayed for God's guidance and wisdom.

Commander Ogidan reiterated the Corps' commitment to ensuring remarkable reduction in the number of car crashes and death on roads in the state. 

According to him "We are a data-driven organization, if you ask how many car accidents were recorded last year in October, we have the data in our office, we keep records and watch out for patterns of accidents in order to put preventive measures in place to avoid recurrence", he said.

Commander Ogidan however, sought the State government's intervention in the reduction of car crashes by de-congesting roads through the provision of alternative routes for residents and appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support for the Corps.
