KWSG UNVEILS PLAN TO TRANSFORM STATE OWNED MEDIA

Following the ongoing reformation of Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq's administration in the State, the Kwara State Government has unveiled plans to transform the state-owned media houses into primary source of news in the state henceforth.

The state Commissioner for Communications, Hon Bolanle Olukoju disclosed this, while featuring on a  live radio program, "The Platform," on Midland FM of Radio Kwara, Ilorin today.

According to Olukoju, plans are already in place, to elevate state-owned media houses, to become foremost providers of information on government activities in the state, for others to fetch their news.

"We are dedicated to enhancing the credibility and ensuring the timely reporting of government activities through the state-owned media houses, in order to make them primary source of news, in the state, with the aim of making news from these platforms factual and timely," Olukoju stressed.

Addressing challenges and prospects of media houses in the state, Olukoju shared insights gained from her recent tour of the state owned medium, emphasizing that efforts are underway to overcome these challenges.

In addition, the Commissioner discussed several other key issues, including her assurance of prompt reporting of events by Press Secretaries and collaboration with Correspondent Chapel, to broaden their horizons as well as news coverage.

 During the phone in session,  Hon. Olukoju responded to a caller's question about combating fake news, by first acknowledging to difficulties of eradicating fake news in entirety, but assured the public of government's commitments to minimize its impact.


...Olukoju Calls for Synergy Among Ministries.



In a related development, the Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju has called for synergy among ministries, to working together, in order to achieve their shared vision for better Kwarans and the state at large.

Olukoju who joined her counterparts from Ministries of Health and Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Amina Ahmed E-l Imam and Hon. Aliyu Kora Sabi, for a Mid-term review of the state's Multi-Sectoral action plan for food and nutrition, organized by the Planning and Economic Development ministry, in her goodwill message highlighted the significance of state government's dedication to addressing critical food and nutrition issues in the Kwara State.

Hon. Olukoju commended the hard work and dedication of stakeholders who have contributed immensely to the success of government initiatives, encouraging them to all "get involved in collaborating, innovating and striving for excellence, to ensure that our Multi-Sectoral plan remains a dynamic force for positive change, not only in addressing food and nutrition issues but also in achieving our broader development goals." She concluded.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
