KWSG PARTNERS HYPPADEC TO EMPOWER KWARA YOUTHS


The Kwara State Government has partnered with the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) to commence the distribution of starter packs for trained beneficiaries in the State.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youths Development, Alh. Abdulrasak Babatunde Alabere who disclosed this today during a meeting with HYPPADEC said the packages will be for the trainees of the first batch.

He explained that the second batch of the training would include various skills acquisition such as painting, shoe making, hairdressing, fashion designing, among others.

According to the Permanent Secretary, "the programne was designed to help take beneficiaries out of poverty by teaching them how to build their own wealth to improve the economy of the state," he said.

He stressed that adequate preparations have been made to avoid double registrations from candidates, emphasizing that those who missed out during the first training could benefit from the second batch.

The State Coordinator of HYPPADEC, Hajia Hajara Alhassan, said the programme was designed to improve the livelihood of youths in the state through the acquisition of useful skills.

Present at the meeting were the Director of Personnel Finance and Supply of the Ministry, Mrs. Adenike Funmilola Ajide, the Director of Youths, Alh. Abdulsalam Akeem, the Deputy Director of Youths, Mr. Awoniyi Olaniyi, the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Sikiru Aminu, Engr. Olaiya Kemi, Mr. Oni Felix Oluwaseun and Engr. Temim Aliyu.
