KWSG AFFIRMS DEDICATION TO PROMPT NEWS COVERAGE

The Kwara State Government has again reiterated her commitment to collaborate with journalists in the state, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of government activities.

The State's Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bola Olukoju said this during a familiarization visit to the Correspondence Chapel of
Nigerian Union of Journalists, Kwara Chapter, Muritala Muhammed way, Ilorin.

Emphasizing the importance of the collaboration between her Ministry and the Chapel, Olukoju expressed that " it is crucial to provide accurate and timely information about government policies and activities to the public. As media professionals, it is our duty to facilitate this process, and thus, my ministry is fully equipped to establish a close working relationship with the Chapel".


Additionally, she revealed that Press Secretaries from different Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have received instructions to promptly share reports on their actions within an hour after events. This measure aims to enable the government to effectively manage the narratives surrounding such events and provide journalists with convenient access to official sources for their stories.


Speaking about the Ministry's strategy to increase the visibility of government activities, Olukoju affirmed: "we've established a platform that includes media personnel in the state to receive timely information about government activities. When you receive this information, we kindly request that you give it extensive coverage it requires, for public consumption."

The Commissioner assured them that her communication lines are always open to members of the chapel seeking further clarification on matters related to government's programs and activities, therefore urged them to "reach out to Press Secretaries across the respective MDAs for further details, whenever the need arises."

Olukoju expressed her enthusiasm for the Chapel's efforts at reporting Kwara Government activities both within and outside the state.

Responding, the Vice Chairman of the Chapel, Oba 'Biola Azeez of Tribune Newspaper appreciates the Commissioner for the timely visit and assured her of the Chapel's commitments to building a lasting and productive relationship with the ministry and current administration in the state.

In their remarks, Voice of Nigeria Correspondent, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi also expressed deep appreciation towards the Commissioner for the visit, but advised that Press Secretaries should always accompany their stories with pictures, and as well make their phone contacts available for further clarifications.

In a similar vein, the Guardian Newspaper Correspondent Mr Mansur Aramide Olamide appealed to the Commissioner to regularly invite correspondents to government activities, to ensure firsthand coverage of the events.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
