CONTRACTORS GET MARCHING ORDERS TO RETURN TO SITES

The contractors handling the ongoing rehabilitation of Waterworks in Lafiagi and Zambufu, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, have been given marching orders to return to sites with immediate effect, to complete the water projects with a view to ensuring quick service delivery in the two communities.

The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade gave the directives yesterday, when he paid an assessment visits to the two projects sites.

Hon. Lade, who expressed displeasure at the level of work done in the two sites, warned the concerned contractors to respect the terms of the contract agreement and deliver good work to the state government.

The Commissioner reiterated the state government's commitment to providing the people of the state with potable water supply to justify government's huge investment in the water sector across the state.

Lade emphasized that the state government will not accept any shoddy job from any contractor, warning that it is no longer business as usual.

The waterworks operator at Lafiagi, Usman Issah, who conducted the Commissioner round the facilities, briefed him on the challenges being faced.


He appealed to the state government to assist in solving some of the challenges, especially the epileptic power outage in the area.

Earlier, the Commissioner and his team had taken time to pay royal homage to the Emir of Lafiagi, Alhaji Kudu Kawu, in his Palace before proceeding to the project sites.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
