Olukoju Urges Kwara Residents to Embrace Governor's Free Surgery Programme

Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, has called on residents of Kwara to seize the opportunity provided by the recently approved free surgery programme initiated by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The aim of this programme is to significantly enhance the health standards of Kwara residents, and improve their overall quality of life.

In a statement released today, Hon. Olukoju highlighted the programme's significance, stating, "This initiative is a testament to Governor AbdulRazaq's unwavering commitment to providing Kwarans with unrestricted access to high-quality healthcare services."

The Kwara State Ministry of Health has meticulously outlined the operational guidelines for the programme, which will cover all 16 Local Government Areas of the State. The programme kicks off on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the General Hospital, Erin-Ile, in Oyun Local Government.

Hon. Olukoju emphasised Governor AbdulRazaq's dedication to the well-being of Kwarans, saying, "His Excellency places immense value on the lives of Kwarans and assures them that their well-being is a top priority. Therefore, I implore every citizen to seize this golden opportunity to prioritise their health, as health is wealth."

She added, "This is just the beginning, as there is much more to come from this administration for the good people of Kwara State as a dividend of democracy."

The free surgery programme includes medical and eye screenings, medical treatments, surgical services for common ailments, and operable eye diseases such as hernias, lipomas, cataracts, and pterygium. Reading glasses will also be distributed if necessary.

Hon. Olukoju calls on all Kwarans to actively participate in this vital healthcare programme, ultimately contributing to the state's collective well-being and prosperity.
