Kwara's Unparalleled Brilliance at International Arts and Crafts Expo

Kwara State Council for Arts and Culture has recorded yet another remarkable success at the just concluded 16th International Arts and Crafts (INAC)'s Expo in Abuja, clinching first in crafts merchandising and overall third among the 25 participating states and 30 foreign countries as a whole.

This was contained in a statement released today by the Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, in her office.

Hon. Olukoju commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's dedication to the advancement of Arts and Culture as well as creative economy in Kwara State, which is evident in the success story recorded at the event.

"One of the crowning achievements for the State of Harmony, was securing the first place in crafts merchandising, a testament to the state's commitment to promoting its rich culture and creative economy.
"Additionally, out of 25 states and 30 foreign countries, the state ranked third overall, with Ogun and River/Taraba states taking first and second place respectively” the Commissioner said.

Hon. Olukoju expressed further her deep appreciation to the Governor for "his unwavering support, to the state's successful participation at the 2023 Expo. This achievement reflects His Excellency's dedication to the advancement of culture and the creative economy in Kwara State, exemplified by initiatives such as the construction of the Visual Arts Centre and Film Village", she added.
The statement revealed further that "International Arts and Crafts Expo showcased cultural performances, an investment forum, exhibitions and offered guided tours of the arts and crafts market in the FCT.

During the event, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe (OON), Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), and President of the World Craft Council (African Region), urged all the 36 states of the federation to replicate the success of the Abuja craft market in their respective states. 

This initiative, according to him, would serve as hubs for artisans and tourists alike, offering a one-stop shop for the purchase of souvenirs and memorabilia.

Dignitaries from across the nation who attended the event, included Diplomats, State Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Directors of Culture and enthusiasts of Arts and Culture.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
