*KWSG restates commitment to the welfare of Kwarans

The Kwara State Government has restated its interest in giving better life to all Kwarans through the  provision of amenities to drive sustainable development. 

This submission was made by the State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, in an interview with a news medium  in his office at the weekend.

Towoju stated that Kwara State has recorded a lot of positive developments  during the first three years of Gov.  AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's adminstration in office and assured that more will still be recorded in his tenure. 

He identified  the government's efforts in the health sector as including the renovation and remodelling of hospitals across the state, provision of critical medical equipments to the hospitals, building and equipping of an Intensive Care Unit at the state General Hospital, Ilorin.

Towoju reiterated that the government has "Zero Tolerance for Malaria which facilitated the payment of ₦150 million in counterpart funding for health and the distribution of Treated Mosquito Nets across the 193 wards in the state."

On education, the Commissioner stated that ''the foundation for education, which had been destroyed before the present administration came on board, has now been rebuilt.

"This is evident in the payment of UBEC funds, which helped the State gain access to the funds which have been put to good use in renovating and reconstructing a lot of schools. 

"Just recently, there was also the approval of a state-of-the-art radio station for the  Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies that will enhance the  Mass Communication programme of the Institution," he added. 

Towoju spoke further on the "employment of 4,701 qualified teachers which was purely based on merit and done through a free and fair recruitment process." 

The Commissioner stressed the payment of minimum wage for the state workers which is meant to ease the lifestyle of the civil servants.

In his words "The topmost concern of any responsible administration, like the one Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq chairs, is that workers' salaries must be paid as due.

"The Kwara Governor is worthy of emulation and we all should put Kwara first just as he does," he said.

When asked when all projects embarked upon by the government will be completed, he responded that all the projects are realistic and will be completed soon while adding that, "we hope to commission the ICT Hub Center and The Visual Arts Center in the next few months."

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
