Kwaraprenuer 2.0 beneficiaries selected through transparent processes - Towoju

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Honourable George Olabode Towoju has described the processes that led to the emergence of 100 youths who received a sum of one million naira grant each from Kwaraprenuer programme as transparent and fair to all.

The Commissioner made this known while featuring on a radio programme over the weekend. 

According to Hon. Towoju, "Kwaraprenuer was initiated to boost the morale of young ones with entrepreneurial skills and this year's own was to celebrate the year 2022 youth day in the State.

"His Excellency chose to teach teeming kwaran youths how to fish instead of giving them fish which was the order of the day in the past administrations."

Towoju emphasied that the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq- led administration is "an administration for all, that pays serious attention to the needs of the masses and most importantly, the youth."

Speaking on how he has been communicating the government's achievements and policies to the public through the Ministry of Communications, Towoju disclosed that the Ministry been more "proactive and dynamic in informing the public about the government activities since I came on board. We reach out to more people through on air and other means of communication."

" His Excellency has revamped all state-owned media houses like Radio Kwara, Kwara Tv and Herald Newspaper. Today, these media houses are up and running. Kwara TV is already on Startime and very soon it will be aired on DStv

On education, Towoju disclosed that the Government has restored dignity to the teaching profession by paying the teachers as and when due, while ensuring that the payments are in full.

According to him, "this has boosted the morale of the teachers and you will also recall that funds were also released  by His Excellency to ensure the accreditation of more courses in our tertiary institutions.

" UBEC funds which were initially witheld by the Commission because of the mismanagement of the past administration were released to this administration after trust, honesty and integrity has been restored and counterparts fundings have been paid. Some days ago, the Commission gave His Excellency pass mark for transparency in the use of the fund."

"With these fundings, over 600 schools are being refurbished, renovated and revamped. More tables and chairs are procured to provide environment conducive for learning. Digital Literacy Centres are being built across the state."

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
