We are changing the face of communication - Towoju

The Kwara State Government is committed to ensuring that the state  owned media houses are better positioned to compete with their pairs nationwide, after years of neglect by previous administrations.

The state Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, gave this assurance on Sunday at the thanksgiving service celebrating his appointment as the Commissioner for Communications, which took place at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, Ayedun in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the State. 

Towoju submitted that he will continue to do his best in his position as the Communications commissioner.

He reiterated that the state government is ever ready to make the public proud and also ensure that they have access to quality values of education and entertainment by the three state owned media houses.

" We are unrepentantly committed to midwifing Radio Kwara, Kwara TV and The Herald Newspapers into excellence through the best practices in the media industry for the good of our people.

This is why the present administration led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is leaving no stone unturned so that our media houses can regain their status of professional excellence," he said.

Towoju, in his address, also thanked the Governor for giving him the honour to serve as a commissioner, stating  that he is the first commissioner in 50 years to be chosen from his community.

Earlier in his remarks, Rev. Fr. Patrick Umeaka talked about the qualities of Christ Jesus as a being who is humble even unto death, though he was one with God the Father. He further urged the congregation to imitate Jesus and live a life of humility. 

He emphasized that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, coupled with the end of the forty days fasting and prayer, should reflect in the lives of christians positively. 

Also present at the event were the Deputy Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Raphael Olalekan Adetiba; Commissioner of Environment, Hon. Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh; Obajisun of Ayedun, Dr. Olusegun Abayomi Rotimi , and other dignitaries.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
