Towoju reaffirms government's support for trade unions

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has reaffirmed the government's support for trade unions and the self-employed in the state.

Towoju made the reaffirmation  while receiving the executive members of a non-Yoruba-speaking group of Bike riders, the Nasara Okada Riders' Association (NORA), Ilorin, at the Ministry's conference room today.

He commended them for helping during the "2019 Otoge Movement" and assured them of the government's readiness to listen to their demands and grant their wishes. 

The Commissioner promised to relay their needs to the appropriate quarters and ensure that their ìneeds are met. 

Earlier, the State President of NORA, Alhaji Abbdullahi Yusuf, stated that theirs is a trade union cum association registered by the  Corporate Affairs Commission and that they also pay their dues to the government.

According to him, the non-Yoruba-speaking tribes of Okada riders have been requesting for the creation of additional branches of Okada Riders' Association in Kwara State.

Yusuf added that the addition will help them benefit from the government while also allowing them have an input at the decision-making level, coupled with a sense of belonging in the State Joint Okada Riders' Association. 

The president submitted that if their requests are granted, the non-Yoruba-speaking group will also have the opportunity to have representatives in the Executive Council of the Kwara State Joint Okada Riders' Association.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
