Towoju, Buraimoh call for peaceful electoral conduct

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has called on Kwarans and eligible voters in the country to shun electoral violence and other electoral vices as the country draws nearer to the 2023 elections.

Towoju made the call today during a Kwara Tabloid event, "Pre-Election Roundtable" with the theme : "Detriments of Election-Day Apathy", held at the Kwara Hotels, Ilorin.

He stated that election period should not be a time of criminality but of "peace and order." He called on all parties to let love lead and let the people's votes count, without any show of oppression or disorderliness.
 
"If we all think "Kwara First", we will not allow anybody use us against any party during elections. We will all vote out conscience and see ourselves as brothers and sisters. 
"This is the only State we have. Kwara is our State. This is our home and there is no place like home. Do not let us fight on our land because of elections. When the time comes, let us conduct ourselves as peaceful ambassadors of the state," he added. 

Governor AbdulRazaq is peace-loving and he carries everybody along, irrespective of gender, tribal or religious differences and it is not surprising that he assented to a 35 per cent women participation in the cabinet and public sector appointments. 

In her remarks, the State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Olaitan Buraimoh, frowned against violence during elections and said that "the mayhem accompanied with snatching of ballot  boxes,rival attacks among supporters and political parties, among other violent acts have been known to be part of election's character in the country.

"At critical times, the outcome has seen unsuspecting and innocent citizens falling victim to the aggressive showdown, not pleasing to the hearing, particularly at times when armless voters have had to leave the scene of voting scampering for safety," she added

She urged people to shun electoral vices and register for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in order to exercise their franchise at the upcoming elections.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
