KWSG committed to bettering Kwarans' lives - Towoju

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has re-echoed the government's commitment towards embarking on quality road construction projects all over the senatorial districts of the state. 

Towoju made this assertion during a radio programme in Ilorin.

He lauded the administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for putting Kwarans first by helping to construct link roads, even to the innermost parts of the state, thereby making it easier to move about and do businesses from one point to the other. 

"It gladdens my heart to tell you that we have been constantly getting positive feedbacks from the people and this is also fueling us to do more. 

"Up to 200 roads have so far been done, with many still ongoing. Looking at the Oro-Ago road leading to Oyate, you will see that the newly-constructed road has greatly opened up the community to more economic activities and thereby helping in boosting the development of the town. 

"The Esie axis has also been done and when the road is good, it is easy for tourists to visit the place and explore some of the historical landmarks of our dear state," he added. 
 
Speaking on the recently-celebrated International Women's Day, Towoju affirmed that the governor, who has won the He-for-She Award "back to back" for his first of its kind gender mainstreaming and 35 per cent political participation, is a supporter of women emancipation and empowerment, hence the introduction  of "Owo Ishowo" and "Owo Arugbo."

"The governor realizes that Kwara Women are highly industrious and he knows that they constitute a larger percentage of business owners, hence the need to help the traders with the monthly stipend, under the Owo Ishowo,  to aid their businesses. 

" The General Manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), Mohammed Brimah, is good at what he does and the governor specially chose him to head that programme because the governor wants every eligible Kwaran, both male and female, to benefit from it, without having to know anybody at the top," the Commissioner said. 

Towoju confirmed that "Owo Ishowo" is a gradual and ongoing process and assured that the payment is regular for all the registered beneficiaries.

According to him, all the leaders in the 193 wards of the state are carried along in the process for verifiable capturing and he added that "Owo Arugbo" is targeted at helping the aged people who are among the vulnerable ones in the state.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
