KWSG committed to uplifting indigenous contractors -Towoju

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has reiterated that the state government has been patronizing indigenous contractors in the award of contracts, and will continue to do so.

Towoju debunked the rumour which he said existed in some people's imaginations and stated that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is a true Kwaran who always thinks "Kwara first" and is committed to uplifing indigenous contractors and all Kwarans. 

He made the reaction on a radio programme at the weekend and he reiterated that so far Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq  contracted out 54 jobs to indigenous contractors and 2 jobs to non-indigenes from a tranche of contracts awarded by the government.

" Some people, no matter how great you are, will harvest lies to discredit you. They are not happy with the Governor's achievements and the more they try to put him down, the more he keeps flooring them with greater works. He is like a magician. Look at the issue of minimum wage, they said he could not pay it, but to their dismay and to the joy of Kwara Civil Servants, he did," Towoju said. 

The Commissioner reiterated that in the awarding of contracts, not only are Indigenous contractors being awarded contracts, but also not limited to a particular local government às it spreads across the 3 senatorial districts, notwithstanding party affiliations.

" I can tell you that an indigenous contractor, who is even of the opposition party, was awarded a contract in Isin Local Government Area, which is not surprising as our governor is a governor for all. We also have contractors from Moro, Edu, Ilorin, Irepodun and other Local Government Areas of the state," he added.

Speaking on the seizure of some government assets by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (,AMCON) as a result of the Shonga Farm Loan, Towoju assured that efforts are on to take back the properties and that the perpetrators will be made to face the wrath of the law at the appropriate time. 

The Commissioner urged Kwarans to let peace reign in the state, while referring to the recent hijab crisis as being masterminded by some politically-motivated people while he urged Kwarans not to allow anyone come between their peaceful cohabitation.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024.
