Commssioner Hails Executive Secretaries of Health Care Agencies for Effective Gate-keeping

The Executive Secretaries of the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, and Kwara State Health Insurance Agency have received commendation for ensuring effective coordination of the three gateways for impactful implementation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund in the State.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Razaq, made the commendation at the first quarterly meeting of the State Oversight Committee for the Basic Health Care Provision Fund held at the State Ministry of Health’s Headquarters, Fate, Ilorin.

“I have gone round most parts of the hard to reach terrains in the Kwara North Senatorial District of the State and seen that your teams are delivering appropriately and accordingly to stem entry of alien diseases especially through immunisation at the primary level,” the Commissioner said.

Dr. Razaq disclosed that the full implementation of the Primary Health Care (PHC) under one roof will further strengthen the agency in delivering qualitative health care services.

In her remarks, the Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Nusirat Elelu, appreciated the support of the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for improving the infrastructural status of the PHCs in a way that can make the Agency invite the national team for accreditation of more centres for the Health Care Provision Fund. 

Dr. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, Executive Secretary of Kwara State Health Insurance Agency, who was also at the meeting said about 20,935 people have been enrolled as beneficiaries in the State. 

The Basic Health Care Provision Fund seeks to provide improved access to healthcare through the PHCs while the insurance component addresses aspects of cost which entrenches universal health coverage in the State.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024.
