KW-HMB Visits Adewole Cottage Hospital, Pledges Sustained Support for Surgical Outreach

The Kwara State Hospitals Management Board (KW-HMB) has pledged sustained support for the ongoing surgical outreach at Adewole Cottage Hospital, Ilorin, as part of efforts to ensure effective healthcare delivery to residents.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr Abdulraheem Malik, made the commitment on Monday, when he led a monitoring and supervision visit to the facility to assess the conduct of the surgical outreach and the quality of services being provided to beneficiaries.

During the visit, Dr Malik assessed the level of participation, availability of medical personnel and drugs, general organisation of the exercise, as well as the condition of the facility, while interacting with healthcare workers and beneficiaries.

He said the monitoring exercise was aimed at ensuring that the outreach meets the expected standards and that beneficiaries receive quality and timely care.

Dr Malik also reaffirmed the Board’s support for the healthcare workers involved in the exercise, commending the surgical team for their dedication, professionalism and commitment to providing care to residents.

He stressed that the Board would continue to monitor healthcare facilities and programmes under its supervision to ensure that services are effectively delivered to the people.

According to him, “Our responsibility is not only to provide healthcare services, but also to ensure that those services are delivered effectively and reach the people who need them most.”

He urged residents who require surgical consultations and other services covered by the outreach to take advantage of the opportunity.

Adewole Cottage Hospital is one of the state’s public health facilities and has previously benefited from government renovation and expansion efforts aimed at improving its capacity and service environment.

Kwara Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Health Workers’ Welfare

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare, professional development and wellbeing of medical doctors and other healthcare professionals in the state.
