Govt Reaffrmes Commitments to Enhancing Healthcare Delivery

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitments to improving healthcare delivery across the state.

This was stated by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, when the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Implementing Partnership Management (IPM) team on Strengthening Access to Reproductive and Adolescent Health (EU-SARAH) Project, paid her a courtesy visit, in her office today. 

Dr. El-Imam informed the visitors that, successes are already recorded in key areas such as immunization, nutrition and health infrastructure, adding they are a direct results of the passionate leadership and support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration.

According to her, “Kwara State is known for thoroughness, therefore ready to collaborate fully with the UNICEF IPM team. We are confident that the knowledge and innovations you bring will benefit us well beyond the EU-SARAH Project, as we aim to transfer these improvements across every aspect of the health sector. We look forward to implementing and enhancing the project’s deliverables," she concluded.

Also speaking at the meeting, the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Professor Nusirat Elelu, expressed deep appreciation to UNICEF for its longstanding support to the Agency.

“The technical assistance, transparent financial processes and strong monitoring frameworks provided by UNICEF are invaluable to us. This is a significant opportunity for Kwara therefore calls on us to further improve our service delivery," Elelu added.

Speaking on behalf of UNICEF, the IPM Team Lead, Bushra Baby, explained that the team would be working across the three EU-SARAH implementing states — Kwara, Sokoto and Adamawa — with a focus on enhancing fund management, strengthening monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, to ensure effective collaborations.
