Health Facilities Deserve the Best to Meet Patients' Needs-ES
The Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospital Management Board (KW-HMB), Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, has affirmed that health facilities in Kwara State deserve the best to satisfy the health needs of residents of the State.
The Executive Secretary made this known recently the at Sobi Specialist Hospital during the routine monitoring and supervision exercise of the Board.
According to Dr. Malik, Sobi Specialist Hospital is one of the largest facilities in the State, experiencing a high inflow of patients seeking medical attention. He assured that the administration is committed to doing everything possible to enhance the quality of service delivery for patients.
“We don’t stay in our comfort zones waiting for situation reports from the hospitals. Instead, we routinely visit to see for ourselves how the government’s investments in these facilities are being utilized for the well-being of our people,” he stated.
Dr. Malik also noted that the Sobi Specialist Hospital has been identified as one of the pioneering institutions for training graduate intern nurses, an initiative started by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.This effort is aimed at improving healthcare services and addressing manpower shortage within the State.
He emphasized that Sobi Specialist Hospital has taken on additional responsibilities that require further attention to ensure effective service delivery.
Some of the facilities inspected during the visit included the laboratory, medical records departments, pharmacy, maternity unit, and the accident and emergency unit.
