KWSG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO IDOFIAN, EKAN MONARCHS

The Kwara State Government has presented letters of appointment and Second Class Staff of Office to the newly appointed Oludofian of Idofian, Ifelodun Local Government, HRH, Oba Olarewaju Adedamola Omikunle, and the Elekan of Ekan land, Oke-Ero Local Government, HRH, Oba Olaniyan David Adekunle, at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development.

The State Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi, represented by the  Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development at the presentation ceremony, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata congratulated the  Monarchs on their well-deserved appointments.

The Deputy Governor disclosed that the presentation ceremony was long awaited by the good people of Idofian and Ekan land, adding that the large turn out of people at the occasion  was a clear demonstration of the choice of the people and the communities concerned.

Mr. Alabi disclosed further that the present administration, under the amiable leadership of  Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), has always accorded due recognition and respect for the Traditional Institution since the inception of his administration, which has greatly assisted the Royal Fathers in the discharge of thier traditional responsibilities.

Also speaking at the event, the member representing Oke-Ero at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Olajire Bamigboye Kuti thanked the State Governor for allowing the wishes of the people to come to reality by the appointment of the new Elekan of Ekan land.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Council, Hon. Jide Ashonibare congratulated the new Oludofian on his appointment and implored him to extend his hands of friendship to the other contestants in order to foster harmonious relationship for the development of the community.

The Chairman thanked His Excellency for allowing the wishes of the people to manifest in the appointment of the new Monarch.

The two newly appointed Monarchs in their respective acceptance speeches, thanked the State Government over their appointments and assured that the confidence reposed in them to pilot the affairs of their communities would be justified.

In his vote of thanks, Barrister Anthony Towoju, a former Commissioner in the State, thanked the government for making the long awaited ceremony to become a reality, most importantly for allowing the wishes of the the two communities become realities through the choices of the Monarchs.
