KWARA PPA SEEKS SYNERGY WITH MOLG

The Kwara State Public Procurement Agency has sought synergy with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development in a bid to strengthen the existing bond between the Ministry and the agency.

The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Bata, while playing host to the team from the agency, appreciated the team and acknowledged their effectiveness and relevance in the proper positioning of Local Government administration.

Hon. Bata disclosed that the Ministry and the agency have come a long way and have so much to benefit from each other. 

The Commissioner reiterated the importance of training and retraining of workers in order to ensure that they are able to meet up with new standards, noting that the last training organized for Local Government workers was a huge success and has really helped the staff to deliver optimally.

Hon. Bata promised the Ministry's support always for the agency as his doors were widely open for positive discussions and further encouraged the management of the agency to continue their good work in order to complement the giant strides being recorded by the present administration in the state.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Iyabo Modupe Adekeye welcomed the Management of the agency to the Ministry, reiterating that the cordial relationship that exists between the Ministry and the agency will continue to blossom.

She appreciated the agency for the success recorded at the last training organized for the Local Government staff and maintained that the training has further enhanced their productivity.

Mrs. Adekeye assured the PPA of the Ministry’s continuous support and cooperation.

Responding, the General Manager of PPA, QS Raheem Abdulbaki congratulated the Commissioner on his worthy appointment, assuring the Commissioner that he would continue to enjoy the goodwill of the agency.

The GM eulogized the Ministry especially for the easy access granted his agency whenever there is the need to interface with the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairmen of Local Government Councils.

QS Abdulbaki implored the Commissioner to use his good office in encouraging the Local Government to undergo the next phase of training, emphasizing that the last training was just a foundation that needs continuation.

The GM hammered on the importance of training and retraining, which is very crucial in getting the best out of any worker.
