Towoju cautions youths against thuggery

The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has called on the youths of the state to shun thuggery and other social vices, in order to maintain the peace and harmony the state is known for.

Towoju made this call today while playing host to the representatives of the Kwara State Chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in the Ministry's conference room.

He assured them of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's commitment to ensuring that Kwarans get quality education and asserted that this made the governor to pay off the Universal Basic Education (UBEC) counterpart funds the state had defaulted since 2013. 

Towoju said that under the administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq qualified and competent teachers were recruited last year to teach the Kwara child in school, adding that the recruitment process was strictly based on merit. 

The Commissioner emphasized that the youths matter to the governor, hence, the reason 70 per cent of cabinet members are youths because he believes that  the future belongs to the youths.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Salman Yusuf, appreciated the governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his interest in developing the education sector in the State. 

Yusuf commended the state government's commitment to the completion of the   Osi and Ilesha Baruba campuses of the Kwara State University. 

The Chairman sought for partnership with the Ministry and added that they would like to work with the Ministry in achieving some of their aims and also render assistance in any way they can.
 
The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a magazine highlighting the achievements of the governor titled, " The Uncommon Liberator."

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
