KWTV commences 24 hours live transmission

The Kwara State Commissioner of Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has applauded the Management of the Kwara State Television Authority (KWTV) on the commencement of the 24 hours live transmission of local content to portray the culture and heritage of Kwara State to Nigerians. 

Towoju gave the applause during a press conference marking the commencement of the station's broadcast of local content in the KWTV conference room today. 

"On the first of February, 2022, we were all excited to witness the switch on of the 24 hours live transmission of KWTV for the first time in 25 years and we were very impressed with the quality of the picture production and sound quality.

"The transformation of Kwara TV is an outcome of a critically thought-out process which started with the appointment of a thorough bred professional as the General Manager.

" Likewise, His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has been giving support to the repositioning of Kwara TV and the other two state-owned media houses.

" Part of this is seen in the establishment of two new radio stations, Kakakin FM in Ilorin and Nootia FM in Okuta; the 24 hours live broadcast of Radio Kwara and the work done in the Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation, the publishers of The Herald Newspapers. 

"The resolve of the  administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is to ensure that the three media houses owned by Kwara State are steadily transformed to the best in the  North- Central and ultimately in our dear country, Nigeria," he said.

The Commissioner assured that viewers of KWTV  are going to enjoy a "new and scintillating" experience in television broadcasting as the station has lined up an array  of locally produced programmes in line with the values of educating, entertaining and enlightening the public.

On his part, the Chairman of the KWTV Board, Alhaji Hameed Adio, who once served as a Commissioner of Information in the state 29 years ago, said Kwara State "never had it so good" while he revelled being a "part of the success story."

He thanked the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for being proactive in all sectors of development in the state and showing Kwarans that it is "no longer business as usual."

Earlier, the General Manager of KwaraTV, Mr. Olatunde Michaels, commended the initiative of the Executive Governor of the State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for turning the narrative of the Station around positively. 

He hinted that the live transmission of local content will portray the culture and heritage of Kwara State to the outside world and that people will learn more about Kwara State from a "beautiful lens."

The General Manager added that local producers from the state have been engaged for educative and enlightening programs for the station and he said that it is going to be the KWTV that is different from what had been known before.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
