EMPOWER GIRLS FOR AN EQUAL FUTURE- OLUFOLAKE ABDULRAZAQ

 The First Lady of Kwara State and Founder, Ajike people's support center, Ambassador (Dr) Olufolake AbdulRazaq has stressed the need to inspire and empower the girl child.

She stated this at the book reading and conversation session of the book, African Power Girls authored by Mr. Adebola Williams on Thursday 24th March 2022 held at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin.

In her words, "When effectively supported during the adolescent years, you will agree with me that girls have the potential to change the world, both as the empowered girls of today and as tomorrow's workers, mothers, entrepreneurs, mentors, household heads as well as political leaders.

Amb. Abdulrazaq added that an investment in realizing the power of adolescent girls upholds their rights today and promises a more equitable and prosperous future.

The First Lady added that the event would also reawaken reading culture among  students and thanked the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for making the development of the girl child and indeed all children the core concern of his administration

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman House Committee on Education and Human Capital Development, Hon. Mohammed Baba Saliu Boriya, commended the giant strides of Amb. Abdulrazaq for being at the vanguard of the protection and promotion of the interests of the girl-child.

 "I have observed with satisfaction the programme and activities of the support center (Ajike People Support Center) especially with regards to allievating the suffering of the downtrodden and empowerment of the vulnerable", he said .

Hon. Boriya  further stated that the First Lady has indeed touched the lives of Kwarans in various positive ways, as the event is another novel creation by her  to further promote girl-child education which is highly commendable.

The highlight of the event was the reading and conversation on the Africa Power Girl Book which was respectively taken by the Commissioner for Communications, Mr. Olabode George Towoju; Commissioner for Environment, Mrs. Abosede Buraimoh; commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Mrs. Mopelola Abdulmalik and Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Mrs. Adenike Harriet Afolabi- Oshatimehin resptively

The Commissioners further counselled students at the event to work hard, never look down on themselves but to always be bold and believe in their abilities.

In his remarks, the author of the book, African Power Girls, and CEO of RED for Africa, Mr. Adebola Williams, appreciated the First Lady for her support and committment to the girl-child, youth and women empowerment.

 He further enjoined the  students present to confidently pursue their dreams as they dont need anyone's permission to be successful, while explaining that the inspiration behind this book writing is to inspire girls to see women who had gone before them and how they performed exploits despite the daunting challenges faced.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Government launched the Kwapreneur program as a strategic effort to empower industrious and innovative young entrepreneurs across the state. Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
