In a Landmark move to achieve universal health coverage and secure sustainable, qualitative healthcare for its workforce, the Kwara State Government has commenced the implementation of the State Health Insurance Scheme for civil servants, with the statutory 2% contribution from workers, reflected in the September 2026 salary payroll. Under the arrangement, the 2% contribution deducted from the salaries of State civil servants will be matched by an additional two per cent counterpart contribution from the Kwara State Government, creating a 50:50 cost-sharing model, for the financing of healthcare services. The initiative is designed to provide sustainable access to quality healthcare for State workers while reducing the financial burden associated with out-of-pocket medical expenses. KW-PPA Seeks Auditor-General’s Partnership on Institutionalisation of Annual Procurement Plan

The Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KW-PPA) has sought the collaboration of the Office of the Auditor-General for Kwara State to institutionalise and ensure the effective implementation of the Annual Procurement Plan across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the state. The GM/CEO of KW-PPA, QS. Raheem Abdulbaki, made the appeal during a working visit to the Office of the Auditor-General, where he emphasised the need to integrate procurement planning into the state’s budget preparation process to strengthen financial discipline, transparency, accountability and value for money. The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, announced the approval on Wednesday at the Ministry's headquarters in Ilorin.
