Kwara State Government Not A "One-Man Show" - Towoju

Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Olabode George Towoju, has  described as  fallacy views in certain quarters that the State Executive Council only holds meetings twice a year.

Towoju, who made this assertion on a Radio Kwara programme, disclosed that  the State Executive Council has met not less than twice in the last three weeks and deliberated on issues pertinent to the development of the state.

"The insinuations, in certain quarters, that the State Executive Council, under the leadership of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, does not hold council meetings regularly or meets only twice a year, is pure fallacy.

"Such insinuations are the machinations of politically-displaced people seeking any straw to hold in order to remain relevant in the new political configuration of our dear state, Kwara," he said.

The Commissioner urged  the people of the state to be actively involved in the ongoing transformation for socio-economic growth across the state.

He maintained that the accomplishments of the governor cut across all critical sectors, notably health, education, water, and public infrastructure in addition to the provision of motorized boreholes in different communities.

On the allegation that the state government does not patronize local contractors in the award of contracts, Towoju asserted that local contractors have been patronized in the award of contracts through their local contractors' association.

A caller on the programme, who introduced himself as a local contractor, affirmed that local contractors are been patronized by the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration through the award of contracts in all sectors.

These views were corroborated by the state Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Remilekun Banigbe, who featured on the programme.

Banigbe recalled that the state government, since 2019, has been implementing its programme across the 193 wards in the state without political bias.

She illustrated this with the employment of over 4,000 teachers by the state government, purely on merit, without political consideration.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ìsìn Local Government Area of Kwara State,Mr. Segun Kayode Awogbade, who also featured on the programme, affirmed that the present administration in the state has carried out a number of projects in the local government area.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024.
