KWSG receives Delegates from NEC for Evaluation of Developmental Projects
The Kwara State Government has received delegates from the National Economic Council (NEC), who have visited the State to evaluate developmental projects.
The Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Dr. (Mrs) Mary Arinde, who welcomed the delegates from the NEC at the conference room of the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday, reiterated the State Government’s commitment to rewriting the development story of the State of Harmony on a positive note.
The Commissioner urged the delegates to visit all the developmental projects executed such as the Garment Factory, Agriculture Programmes across the State, Education Sector, all projects executed by implementing Ministries, pointing out that these Ministries have registered lots of impactful projects/programmes in the State, which have really encouraged more investors to consider Kwara State for better investment.
She, however, assured them of their safety and a conducive environment throughout their official assignment.
The State Director, Planning Department, Alhaji Kayode Alimi, appreciated the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for the massive impactful projects embarked on, which have changed the economic status of the State, while assuring the delegates of a safe movement around the State and total cooperation from the Management of the Ministry in order to achieve a positive outcome.
In his remarks, the Head of the delegates, who doubles as the Director General of Benue State Budget Planning Commission, Professor Andohol Jerome, appreciated the State Government for the warm reception and assured that appropriate steps would be taken to ensure proper evaluation of the developmental activities/projects in Kwara State for better improvement.
Prof. Jerome noted that they have commenced the evaluation of developmental projects, programmmes and activities in all States across the Country, saying “this particular team is meant for the North Central Zone and the assignment is aimed at developmental project evaluation, data analysis and for taking samples for other States to emulate developmental projects, which will boost the economic growth in the nation.”
"The essence of this assignment is to ensure the developmental projects across the State are accessible to every individual across board and a means of assessing feedback from the masses", he added.
