Kwara Students urged to shun social vices

The Kwara State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajia Mopelola Abdulmaliq-Bashir, has reiterated the need for sensitisation on violence against women and children. Abdulmaliq-Bashir made this known today during a continued sensitisation tour of the Ministry to Molete Community, Moro Local Government and Kwara State Polytechnic. She disclosed that there are rules binding child slavery and violence, and there will be no excuse of ignorance for erring people. The Commissioner stated that students should shun all forms of societal vices and be good ambassadors of the School and State while also urging everyone to be an advocate of the girl-child wellbeing. "Our society is filled with all sorts of unscrupulous activities and youths have been found to be at the core of drug abuse and sexual violence, and this has eaten deep into our society. The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. The Kwara State Commissioner of Communications, Hon. Olabode George Towoju, has sought for cooperation with journalists in the state in order to move the state forward.  Calling on the journalists to always stand for the truth, he added that many cankerworms will soon be made open and the "evil doers" will not go unpunished.  Towoju said that the past administrations mishandled many government properties, adding that it is one of the issues the government of Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq is trying to solve.  The Commissioner made the submission at the Media Parley held at the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) at his maiden appearance at the Chapel.  He added that "it is unfortunate that things have gone bad but we must not rest. Buraimoh made this submission today at the official opening of a 2 -Day Table Tennis Tournament organized by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara Chapter, in conjunction with Hon.
