Kwara Govt Reiterates Support for Students, Youths
The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting students and youths in the state, assuring them of continued investment in their welfare, education and future development.
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, stated this during a courtesy visit by members of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Student Support Group (AASSG), a political movement comprising students from tertiary institutions across Kwara State and beyond.
Amb. Ndanusa emphasised that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has remained successful, noting that the Governor has done much for the people of Kwara State, particularly the youths.
He stressed that the Governor has consistently demonstrated the capacity to identify what needs to be done, when it should be done and how best to achieve it, describing the administration’s achievements across various sectors as evidence of its commitment to the growth and development of the state.
The Commissioner urged the group and other stakeholders to continue supporting the present administration and making its achievements known, particularly among young people and students who have benefited from various government interventions.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Kwara State Youth Technical Working Committee, Comrade Uthman Abdulquadir Alapansanpa, encouraged members of the group to work assiduously and ensure that they play their roles effectively in supporting the government’s programmes and policies.
The Coordinator of AASSG, Comrade Jimoh Dauda, noted that students in the diaspora and those studying in other states were also rallying support for the administration in recognition of its interventions in the education sector.
He particularly highlighted the Governor’s increase in bursary support for students, noting that the initiative had helped ease the financial burden on students and made life easier for them.
He further disclosed that the group comprises students from various tertiary institutions within Kwara State and beyond, adding that members are committed to mobilising students and youths in support of the administration and its developmental agenda.
The group also expressed its willingness to support the government in the forthcoming election of the Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, while reaffirming its commitment to constructive youth and student participation in the political process.
