Ndanusa Applauds Gov. AbdulRazaq’s Commitment to Youths, Harps on Skills Acquisition

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Ambassador Ndanusa Usman Shehu, has again commended the giant strides of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in youth development across the state.

The Commissioner dropped this commendation during a radio programme at Albarka FM Ilorin on Tuesday where he described Governor AbdulRazaq as a youth-friendly leader whose administration has continued to create platforms for young people to thrive, excel and become self-reliant.

He appreciated the Governor for his consistent support, investment and political will towards programmes and initiatives that directly impact the lives of Kwara youths.

The Commissioner also used the opportunity to sensitize the public on the ongoing Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme, NJFP.

In his words, "NJFP is an initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP. The programme is designed to tackle youth unemployment by connecting qualified Nigerian graduates with 12 months of paid work experience, hands-on training, mentorship and coaching in reputable host organizations.

"Fellows under the programme also enjoy a monthly stipend of ₦150,000, professional development, and networking opportunities that enhance their employability."

Ambassador Ndanusa urged youths in Kwara to key into the NJFP and other federal and state opportunities.

He further advised young people to equip themselves with hands-on skills that will benefit them and make them relevant in the 21st century economy.

"Our youths must go beyond paper qualifications. We must embrace practical skills in entrepreneurship, digital technology, vocational trades and innovation. That is the path to financial independence and nation building," he said.

The Commissioner reassured that the Ministry of Youth Development under Governor AbdulRazaq remains committed to partnering with stakeholders to expand access to decent work and skills opportunities for youths in the state.
