Ministry of Social Development, KW-IRS Conduct Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement on Creche Registration Compliance

The Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), has conducted a two-day Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Exercise on Crèche Registration Compliance across the Ilorin metropolis.

The exercise, which took place from June 23 to 24, 2026, was aimed at ensuring compliance with crèche registration requirements among schools and childcare centres providing services for children between the ages of 0 and 6 years.

Speaking on the exercise, the Honourable Commissioner for Social Development, Hajia Mariam Nnafatima Imam, PhD, stated that all operators of crèche facilities are required to register with the Ministry and renew their registration annually in accordance with the regulations.
Hajia Imam noted that crèches operating without valid registration are not recognised by the Kwara State Government and are therefore unauthorised to operate. 

She added that such facilities would be liable to sanctions, including fines, closure, and other penalties as stipulated by law.

The Commissioner further disclosed that the Ministry deployed a dedicated task force to schools and learning centres across the Ilorin metropolis to assess compliance, evaluate operational standards, and enforce the State's regulatory framework for childcare services.

The exercise was led by the Director of Social Welfare, Alhaji Abdulfatai Hamzat, alongside officials of the Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), legal officers, and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
He emphasised that registration and annual renewal are mandatory requirements for all operators of crèche facilities and form part of the government's efforts to ensure quality childcare services and safeguard the welfare of children.

Alhaji Hamzat urged proprietors of unregistered crèches to regularise their status without delay, warning that facilities operating outside the approved regulatory framework would face appropriate sanctions.

During the exercise, the joint task force visited schools and childcare centres within the Ilorin metropolis to verify registration status, evaluate compliance levels, provide guidance where necessary, and enforce relevant regulations.

IVTEC-KWSG Empowers Youths Under the 2024/2025 Employment Generation Scheme

The Kwara State Government, in collaboration with International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College, (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo, has  commenced batch 8 of the year 2024/2025 admission of Youths Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme.  The Rector of the College, Engr.
