Lade Commends NSCDC for Safeguarding Critical Water Infrastructure

The Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, has commended the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for its commitment to safeguarding critical water infrastructure across the state.

The Commissioner gave the commendation on recently while speaking at a one-day summit on the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), themed "Protection of CNAI: Panacea for National Development."

Hon. Lade noted that the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led has continued to make significant investments in critical water infrastructure to ensure the provision of safe and potable water to residents across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

He stressed that protecting these facilities is essential to sustaining government investments and improving access to clean water and urged residents to desist from vandalising public water infrastructure, advising residents to take ownership of the facilities by safeguarding them for the benefit of all.

According to him, community participation in protecting critical infrastructure will complement the government's efforts to expand and improve water supply across the state.

In her remarks, the Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, appreciated the NSCDC for engaging key stakeholders to strengthen the protection of critical national infrastructure.

She encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge gained during the engagement, emphasizing that safeguarding critical national infrastructure is essential to national development.

Earlier, the lead paper presenter, Dr. Monsurat Isiaka, highlighted the strategic importance of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, describing it as a key responsibility of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Dr Isiaka urged officers and men of the Corps to remain dedicated and professional in the discharge of their responsibilities, calling on the government to strengthen the NSCDC by providing the agency with adequate manpower and financial resources to enhance its capacity to effectively protect critical national infrastructure.

The summit brought together security personnel, government officials and other stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for safeguarding critical national assets as a foundation for sustainable national development.

LG COMMISSIONER APPLAUDS OFFA COUNCIL OVER PROJECT EXECUTIONS

The Kwara State Government has applauded the Offa Local Government Council over the execution of projects that positively impact the lives of people in the Council. Ministry of Social Development, KW-IRS Conduct Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement on Creche Registration Compliance

The Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), has conducted a two-day Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Exercise on Crèche Registration Compliance across the Ilorin metropolis. The exercise, which took place from June 23 to 24, 2026, was aimed at ensuring compliance with crèche registration requirements among schools and childcare centres providing services for children between the ages of 0 and 6 years.
