KWSG PARTNERS KWARA TECH FESTIVAL TO EMPOWER YOUTHS THROUGH TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION
The Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Youth Development, has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering youth innovation and entrepreneurship by partnering with the organisers of the Kwara Tech Festival, a technology-driven initiative aimed at equipping young people with relevant digital skills while connecting them with industry leaders and innovators.
Speaking during a strategic meeting with the festival organisers, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, described the initiative as timely and impactful, stressing that today's youths must strive to become professionals with practical skills and innovative solutions that extend beyond academic qualifications.
He encouraged young people to think beyond conventional career paths and leverage opportunities such as the Kwara Tech Festival to network with established technology professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators within and outside Kwara State.
Amb. Ndanusa further assured the organisers of the Ministry's readiness to collaborate towards ensuring the success of the festival, noting that partnerships of this nature align with the present administration's commitment to youth development, innovation, and economic empowerment.
Amb. Ndanusa attributed the Ministry's unwavering support for youth-focused initiatives to the visionary leadership of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, whose administration has consistently created an enabling environment for innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven development.
He appreciated the Governor for his sustained investments in youth empowerment and digital transformation, noting that such forward-looking policies have continued to position Kwara as a preferred destination for innovation and opportunities for young people.
Also speaking, the Director of Personnel, Finance and Supply, Hajia Okanla Kuburat Atinuke, emphasized the importance of digital literacy and technological advancement, urging youths to embrace technology as a tool for expanding their businesses, creating wealth, and remaining competitive in the global economy.
In his remarks, the Director of Youth, Alhaji Abdulsalam Akeem, commended the organisers for initiating a platform capable of transforming the lives of young people. He noted that the festival would expose participants to emerging technologies, entrepreneurship opportunities, mentorship, networking, innovation showcases, career development sessions, and practical insights from leading professionals across the technology ecosystem.
The organisers explained that the Kwara Tech Festival is designed to attract participants, investors, innovators, startups, students, business owners, and technology enthusiasts from across Nigeria. They added that the event will feature exhibitions, panel discussions, masterclasses, networking sessions, startup showcases, and interactive engagements aimed at positioning Kwara as a thriving hub for innovation and digital entrepreneurship.
They expressed appreciation to the Ministry for its support and pledged to work closely with the government to deliver a world-class event that will inspire, empower, and create opportunities for the youth of Kwara State.
