KWFRC Reviews Projects During Oversight Visit to Ilorin East LG

The Kwara State Fiscal Responsibility Commission (KWFRC) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring accountability in public expenditure following an inspection of the ongoing and completed projects at Ilorin East Local Government Area Council.

The inspection, led by the Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Abubakar Othman, is part of the Commission's statewide monitoring exercise and aimed at assessing the execution of government funded projects and ensuring strict adherence to the principles of fiscal responsibility.

Barr. Othman explained while addressing the officials of the Council that the Commission's oversight role extends beyond financial compliance to evaluating whether public investments are delivering the intended benefits to citizens. He emphasized that regular project inspection help promote transparency, strengthen public confidence in governance, and encourage efficient use of government resources.

The Commission's team toured a number of ongoing and completed projects within the local government area, inspecting the quality of work, the level of completion, and conformity with approved project specifications.

The Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government, Hon. Garba Lukman Agbelere, who was represented by the Director of Personnel Management (DPM), Mrs. Ayodele Omowumi, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the council. 

She expressed appreciation to the Commission for its oversight responsibility, noting that the inspection would further reinforce transparency and accountability in project implementation.

Mrs. Ayodele assured the Commission of the council's continued commitment to prudent financial management and the execution of projects that respond to the developmental needs of communities across the local government area.

The inspection exercise is one of a series of monitoring visits being undertaken by the Kwara State Fiscal Responsibility Commission across the state's local government councils to strengthen fiscal discipline, improve project delivery, and ensure that government resources are effectively utilized for sustainable development.

Projects executed by the Council include: the procurement of 30 motorcycles for Forest Guards in six rural Wards, balance payment for building shops at Ipata market, balance payment for rehabilitation of vandalized 33kv power line from Alade to Iponrin,  Apado and Share junction, balance payment for legislative bus at the Secretariat, channelization and erosion control at Aduralere, renovation of a block of two classroom at Apado, part payment for the ongoing construction of the Computer Based Test (CBT) centre at the Secretariat among others.

LG COMMISSIONER APPLAUDS OFFA COUNCIL OVER PROJECT EXECUTIONS

The Kwara State Government has applauded the Offa Local Government Council over the execution of projects that positively impact the lives of people in the Council. The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Ministry of Social Development, KW-IRS Conduct Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement on Creche Registration Compliance

The Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), has conducted a two-day Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Exercise on Crèche Registration Compliance across the Ilorin metropolis. The exercise, which took place from June 23 to 24, 2026, was aimed at ensuring compliance with crèche registration requirements among schools and childcare centres providing services for children between the ages of 0 and 6 years.
