KWFRC Inspects Projects in Ifelodun Local Government

The Chairman of the Kwara State Fiscal Responsibility Commission (KWFRC), Barr. Abubakar Othman, alongside members of the Commission, has inspected ongoing and completed projects executed by the Ifelodun Local Government Council to ensure prudence, accountability, and transparency in the use of public funds.

Receiving the inspection team, the Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Femi Yusuf, disclosed that the Council has executed numerous developmental projects across the Local Government. 


He highlighted some of the projects to include the ongoing construction of 60 shops at the Ifelodun Shopping Complex in Ganmo, grading of the Ganmo Township Road to the Ilorin South and Asa Local Government boundaries, which had not been graded for a long time, as well as the construction and renovation of schools and the provision of electricity in parts of the Local Government.

Hon. Yusuf further stated that the Council also renovated the office of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). He commended the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his unwavering support and commitment to the development of Ifelodun Local Government.

While conducting the Commission round the project sites, the Council's Head of Department of Works, Engr. Awodi Ayodele Muhammed, explained that the Council, in collaboration with security agencies, trained 20 able-bodied men to maintain order at the Ganmo Market and ensure that traders and hawkers operate within their designated areas to facilitate the free flow of traffic on market days.

Projects executed by the Council include the maintenance of official vehicles belonging to the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Director of Personnel Management (DPM), Local Government Treasurer (LGT), Cashier, Chief of Staff, Head of Department of Works, and Supervisor for Works. Other completed projects include the rehabilitation of Ganmo and Idofian roads, continuation of the Omupo Palace Pavilion, reticulation of water at Elese Palace in Igbaja, repair and maintenance of security Hilux vehicles and Forest Guard motorcycles, installation of solar street lights at Police and NSCDC formations across the Local Government, renovation and replacement of ceilings at the Secretariat, purchase of office furniture, construction of a culvert and clearing of the refuse site within Ganmo Market, rehabilitation and construction of roads in Igbaja, and the installation of 12 solar street lights at the Oreke Military Base.

Other completed projects include the conversion of hand-pump boreholes to solar-powered motorised boreholes at Idofian Grammar School (IGS), the Local Government Secretariat and Ilupeju, continuation of road bulldozing at Ori-Aje–Kabba–Owode, rehabilitation of the Idofian/Elerinjare Road, purchase of 30 motorcycles at Share, and the drilling and installation of a motorised borehole at the Oreke Military Base.

The Council's ongoing projects include the construction of 100 shops at the new Amoyo Market, additional construction of 60 shops at the Ifelodun Shopping Complex in Ganmo, continuation of the construction of a new office complex at the Secretariat, construction of an NSCDC office at Falokun Oja, bulldozing of new roads within the seven Kabba communities in the Idofian District, and the construction of the Apakere Bridge in the Igbaja District, among other developmental projects.

LG COMMISSIONER APPLAUDS OFFA COUNCIL OVER PROJECT EXECUTIONS

The Kwara State Government has applauded the Offa Local Government Council over the execution of projects that positively impact the lives of people in the Council. The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hon. Ministry of Social Development, KW-IRS Conduct Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement on Creche Registration Compliance

The Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), has conducted a two-day Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Exercise on Crèche Registration Compliance across the Ilorin metropolis. The exercise, which took place from June 23 to 24, 2026, was aimed at ensuring compliance with crèche registration requirements among schools and childcare centres providing services for children between the ages of 0 and 6 years.
