KWFRC Inspects Ongoing, completed projects in Ilorin South LG

The Kwara State Fiscal Responsibility Commission (KWFRC) has inspected ongoing and completed projects in Ilorin South Local Government Area as part of efforts to strengthen fiscal discipline, transparency, and accountability in the use of public funds.

The inspection team, led by the Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Abubakar Othman, assessed the implementation of government-funded projects, evaluated the quality of work, and verified that public resources were being used in line with fiscal responsibility principles.

Barr. Othman said regular project monitoring remains a vital strategy for strengthening accountability in governance and ensuring that development projects deliver value to the people, he reaffirmed the Commission's commitment to sustaining oversight visits across all local government councils in the state to encourage compliance with established fiscal standards.

During the inspection, the team visited several ongoing and completed projects across the council area. The Head of the Department of Works in Ilorin South Local Government, Mr. Alanmu Bolaji, guided the delegation through the project sites and briefed members on the scope, level of execution, and current status of each project.

Speaking at the council secretariat, the Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government, Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, welcomed the delegation and praised the Commission for its commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in public service.

He reiterated the council's commitment to prudent financial management and the timely delivery of quality projects that will improve the living standards of residents.

The inspection forms part of the Commission's routine monitoring exercise aimed at improving project implementation, strengthening fiscal responsibility, and boosting public confidence in governance through effective oversight of government-funded projects across the state.

Projects inspected included the renovation of Center Igboro LGEA School, Isale Maliki LGEA School, and schools in Gaa Ayelabowo. The team also inspected the construction of concrete drainage systems at Opomalu and Taiwo Isale, the renovation of school furniture at Oko-Olowo, Center Igboro, and Isale Maliki, and the procurement and installation of 500/11KVA transformers at Alagbado Sobi and Aduagba Community.

Other projects included the electrification of Aiyegbami Joint Community, Oko-Olowo, with the installation of a 200/33KVA transformer, as well as the drilling and installation of motorized boreholes at Olohunda Community, Kilanko Akanbi IV, and Temidire in Alagbado Akanbi V.

The Kwara State Government has applauded the Offa Local Government Council over the execution of projects that positively impact the lives of people in the Council. Ministry of Social Development, KW-IRS Conduct Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement on Creche Registration Compliance

The Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), has conducted a two-day Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Exercise on Crèche Registration Compliance across the Ilorin metropolis. The exercise, which took place from June 23 to 24, 2026, was aimed at ensuring compliance with crèche registration requirements among schools and childcare centres providing services for children between the ages of 0 and 6 years.
