KWSG Hands Over Proposed 10-Storey Education Headquarters Project to Contractor

The Kwara State Government has officially handed over the proposed 10-storey Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development Headquarters project to the Contractor, Migliore Construczione and Tecniche (MC&T), reaffirming its commitment to strengthening education infrastructure and enhancing public service delivery.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Ogunsola, described this as a significant milestone in the present administration's efforts to provide modern, functional and sustainable infrastructure that supports effective governance and educational development across the state.

Dr. Ogunsola said the project is a strategic investment in the future of education administration in Kwara State and explained that the proposed headquarters is designed as a state-of-the-art 10-storey office complex that will house a creche, library, multi-purpose hall and several office spaces to cater for the operational needs of the Ministry.

The Commissioner noted that preliminary aspects of the project have already commenced, demonstrating the state government's determination to ensure timely execution and completion. 

He charged the Contractor to provide effective supervision and ensure that all works conform with approved specifications, quality standards and project timelines, while expressing confidence in the Contractor’s capacity to deliver a project that reflects the state's vision for excellence in public infrastructure and institutional development.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaja Risikat Tinuke AbdulAzeez, commended the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders involved in the project and emphasized the importance of education as key to driving the desired educational capacity in the state.

According to her, the successful completion of the project will provide a befitting and modern administrative headquarters for the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development while further strengthening the state's educational sector. 

In his remarks, the Project Manager of MC&T, QS David Olatunji, appreciated the confidence reposed in the company and assured the state government of its readiness to deliver a quality project, pledging that the company would deploy the required expertise and resources to ensure that the project is executed professionally and completed within the stipulated timeframe.

One of the company’s representatives, Mr. Lediji Oluwaseun, also assured the state government of diligent oversight and continuous monitoring of the project to guarantee quality workmanship, accountability and value for public funds.

The event had in attendance senior officials of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, representatives of the Contractor and other stakeholders.

Ministry of Social Development, KW-IRS Conduct Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement on Creche Registration Compliance

The Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), has conducted a two-day Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Exercise on Crèche Registration Compliance across the Ilorin metropolis. The exercise, which took place from June 23 to 24, 2026, was aimed at ensuring compliance with crèche registration requirements among schools and childcare centres providing services for children between the ages of 0 and 6 years. Speaking on the exercise, the Honourable Commissioner for Social Development, Hajia Mariam Nnafatima Imam, PhD, stated that all operators of crèche facilities are required to register with the Ministry and renew their registration annually in accordance with the regulations. IVTEC-KWSG Empowers Youths Under the 2024/2025 Employment Generation Scheme

The Kwara State Government, in collaboration with International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College, (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo, has  commenced batch 8 of the year 2024/2025 admission of Youths Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme.  The Rector of the College, Engr. (Dr.) Yaru Salihu stated this in Ajase Ipo today in a press statement issued from his office.
