KWSG Hands Over Five Refurbished Ambulances to Strengthen Emergency Healthcare Services

The Kwara State Government has officially handed over five newly refurbished and fully equipped ambulances to the Kwara State Hospital Management Board as part of its continued commitment to strengthening emergency medical services and improving access to quality healthcare across the state.

The ambulances, refurbished by the Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA) under the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) Project, are expected to significantly improve emergency response and referral services while strengthening the linkage between primary and secondary healthcare facilities.

Speaking on Thursday during the official handover ceremony at the Agency's premises, the Executive Secretary of KWSPHCDA, Professor Nusirat Elelu, described the initiative as another demonstration of the Kwara State Government's unwavering commitment to building a resilient and efficient healthcare system.

Professor Elelu, who was represented by the Agency's Director of Personnel, Finance and Supply, Mr. Ajide Olayioye, expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his visionary leadership and sustained investments in the health sector.

She noted that the Governor's people-centred approach to governance has continued to transform healthcare delivery in the state through strategic interventions, improved infrastructure, and the provision of modern medical equipment.

She also commended the Kwara State Ministry of Health and the Commissioner for Finance and Chairman of the Project HOPE Steering Committee, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, for their support and commitment to the successful implementation of the project.

According to her, the refurbishment and comprehensive equipping of the ambulances were made possible through the strong collaboration and synergy among the State Government, the Ministry of Health, Project HOPE, and other implementing partners.
Professor Elelu stressed that the ambulances should be deployed strictly for emergency medical services and patient referrals, in line with the purpose for which they were provided.

She urged the management of the beneficiary facilities to ensure proper maintenance, routine servicing, and responsible utilisation of the ambulances, emphasizing that preserving the vehicles and their medical equipment would guarantee long-term benefits for the people of Kwara State and justify the significant investment made by the government and its partners.

Receiving the ambulances on behalf of the Kwara State Hospital Management Board, the Executive Secretary, Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering commitment to improving the welfare and healthcare of the people of the state.

He also appreciated the Kwara State Ministry of Health, KWSPHCDA, Project HOPE, and all stakeholders whose efforts culminated in the successful refurbishment and equipping of the ambulances.

Dr. Malik assured that the Hospital Management Board would make judicious use of the ambulances, deploy them strictly for emergency medical services, and ensure regular maintenance of both the vehicles and the medical equipment to sustain their effectiveness and longevity.

Beyond the mechanical refurbishment, each ambulance has been fully equipped with essential emergency drugs, medical consumables, life-saving equipment, oxygen delivery systems, and other critical accessories required for pre-hospital emergency care.

The fully equipped ambulances are designed to provide immediate medical intervention during patient transportation, thereby improving patient outcomes and ensuring timely access to quality healthcare for residents across the state.

Ministry of Social Development, KW-IRS Conduct Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement on Creche Registration Compliance

The Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), has conducted a two-day Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Exercise on Crèche Registration Compliance across the Ilorin metropolis. The exercise, which took place from June 23 to 24, 2026, was aimed at ensuring compliance with crèche registration requirements among schools and childcare centres providing services for children between the ages of 0 and 6 years. The Kwara State Government, in collaboration with International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College, (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo, has  commenced batch 8 of the year 2024/2025 admission of Youths Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme.  The Rector of the College, Engr.
