Kwara ACReSAL, JEI-BIODOC JV Consultants Conduct ESMP and RAP Implementation Exercise

As part of ongoing efforts to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and the successful implementation of the Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) in Kwara State, the JEI-BIODOC Joint Venture (JV) Consultants, in collaboration with the Kwara ACReSAL technical team, have commenced a field assessment exercise across the state.

The team, led by the Lead Coordinating Consultant, Ahmed Yousuf, on Monday met with the Kwara ACReSAL technical team at the project's office in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. The meeting focused on implementation planning and field assessment strategies aimed at ensuring the effective preparation and execution of the ESMPs and RAP across project intervention sites in the state.

Welcoming the consultants, the State Project Coordinator, Alhaji Shamsideen Olatunbosun Aregbe, underscored the importance of proper documentation and effective implementation of the assignment.

He stressed that every aspect of the exercise must be professionally handled to establish a benchmark for future development projects in the state.

Aregbe noted that delivering quality work would not only enhance the credibility of the Kwara ACReSAL Project but also position the state to attract additional development interventions, investments, and partnerships.

Speaking during the meeting, the Lead Coordinating Consultant, Ahmed Yousuf, described the assignment as critical to the overall success of the project.

He emphasized its significance to Kwara State, the benefiting communities, and other key stakeholders, while calling for the full commitment and active collaboration of the technical team throughout the implementation process.

Yousuf further stressed that every stage of the exercise must prioritize environmental sustainability, social inclusion, community well-being, and equitable outcomes for all intended beneficiaries.

Yousuf also acknowledged the indispensable role of the technical team, noting that the contributions and responsibilities of every member are essential to achieving the project's objectives and ensuring the successful  delivery of the ESMPs and RAP.

The implementation planning meeting and field assessment exercise reaffirm Kwara ACReSAL's commitment to implementing environmental and social safeguard standards in line with international best practices, while ensuring that project interventions deliver sustainable, inclusive, and lasting benefits to communities across Kwara State.

Ministry of Social Development, KW-IRS Conduct Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement on Creche Registration Compliance

The Kwara State Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), has conducted a two-day Monitoring, Evaluation and Enforcement Exercise on Crèche Registration Compliance across the Ilorin metropolis. The exercise, which took place from June 23 to 24, 2026, was aimed at ensuring compliance with crèche registration requirements among schools and childcare centres providing services for children between the ages of 0 and 6 years. Speaking on the exercise, the Honourable Commissioner for Social Development, Hajia Mariam Nnafatima Imam, PhD, stated that all operators of crèche facilities are required to register with the Ministry and renew their registration annually in accordance with the regulations. IVTEC-KWSG Empowers Youths Under the 2024/2025 Employment Generation Scheme

The Kwara State Government, in collaboration with International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College, (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo, has  commenced batch 8 of the year 2024/2025 admission of Youths Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme.  The Rector of the College, Engr. (Dr.) Yaru Salihu stated this in Ajase Ipo today in a press statement issued from his office.
