Kwara ACReSAL Welcomes World Bank, FPMU on a 3-day Visit

The Kwara Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape, today welcomes the World Bank team and the Federal Project Management Unit to Ilorin, the State Capital, on a 3 day working visit.

The  team which was led by the Task Team Leader ACReSAL and Senior Environmental Specialist, Dr Joy Iganya Agene were welcomed at Major General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, by the State Commissioner for Environment and Chairman State Steering Committee of ACReSAL Project, Mallam Sheu Ndanusa and the Co- Chairmen of the project , Commissioners for Water Resources and Agriculture and Rural Development, Mallam Lade Yunusa  and Mrs Oloruntoyosi Thomas respectively.

 Also, on ground to receive the the team were other members of the Kwara State Steering Committee and Technical Committee members of the project.

The visit was to foster a robust relationship between the state and the World Bank, with the aim of enhancing an unmitigated implementation of the ACReSAL Project in the State.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Shehu Ndanusa stated that the ACReSAL project will not only improve the living standard of community members, but also boost agriculture productivities and restore degraded Landscapes in the state.

Ndanusa lauded the World Bank Team and FPMU for the interest in Kwara communities, assuring them that Kwara SPMU will deliver on its mandate, for the sustainability of the project.

In her remarks, the Task Team Leader, Dr. Joy Iganya Agene, who thanked the State Government for the warm reception, commended Kwara team for showing keen interest in propelling the  project execution, in the overall interest of the state.

She seized the opportunity of the visit to confirm the appointment of the Acting Project Coordinator, Alhaji Shamsideen Olatunbosun Aregbe, as the Substantive Project Coordinator of Kwara ACReSAL project.

Responding, the Project Coordinator, Alhaji Aregbe, appreciated the World Bank and the FPMU for the opportunity given him to serve the State, promising to be dedicated and committed to speeding up the ACReSAL Implementation activities, in the state.

Highlight of the programme was guests entertainment by members of Kwara State Council for Arts and Culture, followed by a technical meeting with the Authorizing Environment of ACReSAL Project in the state.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

The Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is excited to announce the opening of the online application portal for the fifth edition of the Kwapreneur initiative (Kwapreneur 5.0). Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Government launched the Kwapreneur program as a strategic effort to empower industrious and innovative young entrepreneurs across the state. Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
