The Government of Kwara State is committed to making water available to all the citizen of the state within 500-meter radius for every resident. Consequent upon this, The State Government through the Ministry of Water Resources had continue to make giant stride in Water Sector by executing several Water Expansion Projects to make water available to all and sundry.

The Ministry’s activities between the periods under review are as follows;

- The Ministry was granted approval for the payment to complete Fourteen (14) Ongoing projects such as
Rehabilitation of Oyun Waterworks (Lot 2) 100% Completion

- Construction of New Jebba Waterworks 100% Completion

- Rehabilitation of Asa Dam Waterworks 100% Completion

-Extension of Offa Water Works Pipeline Distribution 100% Completion

- Rehabilitation of Afon Waterworks 100% Completion

- Rehabilitation of  Okuta Waterworks 100% Completion

- Replacement of Grip-l Beam Lamella Clarifier at Asa Dam 100% Completion

Waterworks 

- Construction of 59nos. Motorized Boreholes and 9nos. 97% Completion

- HandPump Boreholes across the State

- Additional work of Connecting Ilorin Central Juma’at    100% Completion

-Mosque with dedicated line from Asa Dam Waterworks

-Repair work on Water Supply System in Ilorin Metropolis          100% Completion

- Drilling of Solar Motorized Boreholes at Omidoyin Village,          100% Completion

Moro Local Government 

- Renovation of RUWASSA Building (Phase 1) at Sango Area,       100% Completion Ilorin

- Construction of Prototype Smart Lavatory Toilets in                   50% Completion Ilorin Metropolis at Balogun Alanamu, Balogun Ajikobi  and Baboko Community

- Drilling of 4nos. Motorized Boreholes at Omidoyin,        100% Completion

Onikoyi, Ile-Eke and Afon-Oja, Asa LG

- The Ministry was able to Repair Disrupted Ductile Water pipes along major streams and other pipes network infrastructure in Ilorin Metropolis at Unity Bridge; Kuntu Bridge;  Odo-Okun/ Sawmill Bridge;  Alfa Yahya; Oloje Bridge; Ondoko Bridge;  Amule Bridge; Adewole Area; Odota ; Oloje; Agba dam waterworks; Ola Olu Hospital Area; Malete Waterworks; Ita-Elefun 

- The Ministry was able to do intervention repair to Omu-Aran Waterworks pending Total rehabilitation at Omu-Aran Waterworks.

- The Ministry was able to install  Solar Pump & Panel on the existing Boreholes as well as reticulation with other Sundry at Ilorin central Ju’umat Mosque.

- The Ministry was able to start the implementation of(N200,000,000.00) PEWASH Counterpart funded Projects by Constructing 35 nos. of Conventional Motorized Boreholes and Community Led  Total Sanitation at Oke-Ero LG, Patigi LG and          Ilorin East LG

- The Ministry was able to provide Potable Water Supply at Maje, Sayadi in Kaiama LG

- The Ministry was able to commence Rehabilitation of Sobi Waterworks, Ilorin East LG

- The Ministry was able to commence Procurement of operational Motorcycle for Kwara State Water Corporation and RUWASSA for efficient service delivery

- The Ministry was able to terminate and due re-award the Rehabilitation of Lafiagi Waterworks.

- The Ministry was able to terminate and due re-award the Rehabilitation of Zambufu Waterworks

Kwara to employ 1,800 new senior class teachers

• to prioritise STEM subjects, rural areas • ⁠applicants will write CBT, undergo drug tests Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved a request of the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) to hire 1,800 teachers, 100 non-teaching staff, and 200 security guards to promote safer school environment.  The hires are for the senior secondary schools across the state, with emphasis on the rural areas where teachers are lacking.  TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar said in a statement that application links will soon be released.  “All applicants will have to apply online.
