OLUKOJU CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR ABDULRAHMAN ABDULRAZAQ ON LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR GENDER INCLUSION

It is with great pride and admiration that we announce the recent honor bestowed upon the Exceptional Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was awarded a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award for his unwavering commitment to gender inclusion. Since his assumption of office in 2019, Governor AbdulRazaq has undertaken a remarkable journey to empower and uplift women in our beloved state

One of the Governor's significant accomplishments is the composition of a cabinet that proudly includes 56.25% females, in addition to ensuring that 50% of permanent secretary slots are occupied by accomplished women. Presently, his administration boasts a 50% female cabinet, demonstrating his steadfast dedication to gender balance in leadership roles, which extends to our vibrant and dynamic young commissioners.

Furthermore, Governor AbdulRazaq's commitment to gender equality has found expression in legislation mandating a minimum of 35% gender parity in appointive political offices, as well as within the state bureaucracy. The impact of these visionary policies is evident in the exceptional contributions made by these women, who excel in their respective fields, affirming the wisdom of the Governor's choices.

The Governor's transformative impact extends beyond governance, as evidenced by his bold initiatives in the education sector through KwaraLEARN. This pioneering program not only ensures rigorous monitoring of students' attendance and performance but also prioritizes girls' education to prevent any girl from quietly dropping out of school. The program's robust zero-tolerance policy for child abuse stands as a testament to our commitment to the safety and well-being of our girls in school.

In his determination to empower the girl-child on her journey to womanhood, Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq has championed various educational and sanitation initiatives. Among them is the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), designed to nurture the aspirations of young girls.

Governor AbdulRazaq has also introduced a progressive policy of six-month maternity leave, encouraging women to embrace motherhood without compromising their professional status or abandoning their careers.

In partnership with Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRiN), the Governor has ensured the presence of Crèches within ministries, allowing mothers to bond with their children and aid continuous breastfeeding while fulfilling their work responsibilities.

This Lifetime Achievement Award serves as a well-deserved recognition of Governor AbdulRazaq's dedication to gender inclusion and his tireless efforts to create a more equitable and prosperous Kwara State for all.

The Kwara State Government extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Governor for this prestigious accolade, and we remain committed to supporting his visionary leadership as we strive for a brighter future for our state.
