FACILITIES ASSESSMENT: KWSIEC TOURS POLLING UNITS IN KWARA

The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC), has conducted assessment of facilities of the Commission across the16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the State as part of its strategic planning process for the conduct of a credible local government election.  

The assessment, led by the Commission’s Chairman, Mallam Okanla Baba, began in Baruteen local government, and was wrapped up at the Ilorin West local government Area of the State.

The purpose of the tour, according to the Chairman, was to assess the appropriateness of the locations of KWASIEC's facilities in line with the extant laws and regulations of standard electoral procedures.

The Commission, however, noted that many of the KWSIEC's offices visited across the 16 Local Government Areas were not in good condition for operations of the commission and are required to be put in good shape for credible polls. 

During an interactive session with staff of KWSIEC at various Local Government Areas, the Commission’s Chairman, Mallam Okanla Baba, assured that the Commission’s offices in the various Local Government Areas would  be comprehensively renovated soon.

He added that offices would be put in place where there are none to aid the conduct of a fair, popular and credible elections across the 16 LGAs of the State. 

The Chairman and his team had earlier visited the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC )office in Abuja to solicit the support of the National electoral umpire based on an already established good working relationship with the Kwara State Resident Commissioner of INEC. 

KWSIEC’s delegation and all the Assistant Electoral Officers (AEOs), compared notes and reiterated the need for electoral officials to be of good conduct and embrace good ethical practices given the significance of a credible poll to the State’s political development.

The KWSIEC team emphasized that the task ahead is a trust bestowed on the Commission to deliver a free, fair and credible local government elections in the state.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024. In a statement issued by the Ministry today in Ilorin, all Private Primary Schools are to come to the  Quality Assurance Bureau Headquarter's office, Ilorin, for their pupils registration of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) materials with evidence of payment of their taxes.
