KWPPA HOSTS CONCERNED MDAs AS REVENUE GENERATION MATTER TOPS DISCUSSION

As part of efforts to enhance the revenue generation capacity of the State, relevant Stakeholders have been charged to find a lasting solution to the current impediments on revenue generation from building permits/approval fees for government-owned projects.

The General Manager, Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KWPPA), QS. Raheem Abdulbaki stated this at a One-Day Interactive Session on Physical Planning Authority Building Approval Fees for Government owned projects in the State, organised for the Department of Physical Planning Authority at the Geographic Information System(GIS), Kwara State Internal Revenue Services (KW-IRS)and  Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

While welcoming the participants, the General Manager noted that the interactive session was the first in the year 2022, stressing the
importance of revenue generation and the need to maintain good revenue to fund projects, which will in turn create better amenities and quality service delivery for the citizenry.

One of the resolutions at the session was that the Ministry of  Housing and Urban Development, which is charged with the responsibility of building projects, should ensure that adequate provisions are made for all approval fees under statutory charges and as well as incorporated in the preliminary bill.

It was also resolved that all statutory charges are being paid by Contractors handling all government-owned projects in Kwara State while ongoing projects, for which no provisions were made for building permit be carried out in retrospect using In and Out approach.

The Kwara Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) and the Physical Planning Authority  were directed to immediately come up with a template of statutory fees payable for all building projects for immediate circulation to all Ministries, Departments and Agencies through KWPPA.

At the end of the session, the participants agreed that the Office of the Surveyor General of the State, KW-IRS and the Ministry of Works will soon be invited for a similar interractive session as it affects survey issue relating to road construction projects.

Present at the session were the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply of KWPPA, Mr. Mayaki B.M, the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Abdulrazaq Omotowo, the Director, Legal and Asset Disposal, Barr. Jibril Ahmed Muhammed, among other staff of the Agency.

KWASSIP Opens Application Portal for Kwapreneur 5.0

Common Entrance Materials: KWSG Directs JSS Principals, Headteachers of PPS To Report for Collection

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed all Principals of Junior Secondary Schools and Head-Teachers of all Public Primary Schools across the state to report at the Quality Assurance Bureau Zonal Offices in their area for the collection of Placement Examination (Common Entrance Examination) registration materials as from Monday 1st July, 2024.
