Lade Inspects Otte-Oja/Budo Egba Waterworks Rehabilitation

…As Governor AbdulRazaq Receives Encomiums from Otte-Oja/Budo Egba Communities.

Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, recently carried out an inspection to Otte-Oja/Budo Egba Waterworks Rehabilitation Project to ascertain the pace of work, while receiving encomiums on behalf of the State Government, for the highly anticipated project.

The Otte-Oja/Budo Egba Waterworks was long abandoned following the vandalism of some equipment by some suspected miscreants. Meanwhile,  the contract for its rehabilitation was recently re-awarded by the State Government to the Contractor - AEVIN Nigeria Limited Company.

Hon. Lade expressed enthusiasm for a speedy completion of the project and directed the Contractor handling it to extend fetching points to more areas and newly developed residential buildings within the communities for a wider coverage. 

Taking the Commissioner round the facility and the communities, the Ministry's Consultant, Dr. Hakeem Olawale, noted that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure that people access the water supply without stress.

"We will make sure more areas are connected and repair leaking pipelines where necessary to stop wastages", he said.

Speaking on behalf of the communities, Alhaji Mohammed Jamiu and some women groups, praised the State Government’s efforts, appreciating the present administration for rehabilitating the facility to ease their long time suffering for drinkable water supply.

Responding to questions on payment of water rate, Alhaji Jamiu responded in affirmation and prayed God’s continuous guidance for the State Government.
