KWSG Commences Training of 397 HOS, SSO, QAD Officers on KwaraLearn

In a bid to improve teaching methodology from analog to digital, the Kwara State Government has commenced the training of 397 Officers, selected from Heads of Sections (HOS), School Support Officers (SSO) and Heads of Quality Assurance Department (QAD) in order to ensure effective and efficient discharge of duties.

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, stated this during the opening ceremony of  the 8-day training, which was organised by KwaraLearn in conjunction with Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development; scheduled to take place from Monday, 19th May, 2025 to Tuesday, 27th May, 2025 at the Staff Development College, Fate, Ilorin.

In his welcome address, Dr Olohungbebe said the purpose of the training is to update the teachers' knowledge to face computer age challenges as the state is set to move from analog to digital, restating the State Government’s commitment to improving the quality of education across the sixteen Local Government Areas of the state.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply of the Ministry, Alhaji Rufai Abduraheem, assured that the State Government will support teachers' welfare in the state with a view to getting the best out of them. 

Dr Olohungbebe stated that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration is organising a series of workshops in response to the resolution of education solutions globally, disclosing that the KwaraLearn programme had transformed the state education from analog to digital and emphasised that it is now yielding positive results across the board. 

The Commissioner therefore, expressed confidence that the training would increase the output of the participants in their respective places of work.

In his remarks, the Desk Officer of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mallam AbdulRasaq Olooru, applauded the State Government for prioritizing the education sector and urged participants to justify the confidence reposed in KwaraLearn by putting the knowledge they will acquire during the ongoing training into use.

In her opening remarks, the Managing Director, KwaraLearn, Mrs Laide Abel, welcomed the participants and urged them to be patient and abide by the professional rules that guide them so as to get the best out of the workshop.

"You are the hope of sustainability of this laudable programme in future and we are training you for the project to have future desires”, she said.

Mrs Abel advised all participants to see the workshop as a golden opportunity that would afford them the right approach in their job interactions.

The event was graced by important dignitaries, which include: Directors from Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development and staff from KwaraLearn.
