Kwara Govt Shuts Government High School, GDSS Adeta Over Students’ Unrest
The Kwara State Government has directed the immediate closure of Government High School (GHS) and Government Day Secondary School (GDSS), Adeta, Ilorin, in the Ilorin West Local Government Area of the State due to students’ unrest.
The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, gave the directive today at the Ministry’s headquarters in Ilorin.
The Commissioner further stated that only students who are writing the ongoing Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) and their teachers would be allowed on the school premises for the duration of the examination.
Dr. Olohungbebe added that students involved in the SSSCE are enjoined to always wear their identification cards when coming to the school premises. He also urged parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards remain at home.
The Commissioner warned that any student who violates these directives shall be apprehended by security officers.
