AMDON Seeks Support, Patronage from Kwara Govt

...Commends ongoing state-of-art road projects in the State...

The support and patronage of the Kwara State Government has been sought in areas of palliatives and business by the Kwara State Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria (AMDON) in a bid to further strengthen collaboration, capable of yielding reliable and affordable automobile supply for the State's  transportation sector; while commending the ongoing state-of-art road projects across the State.

 

The Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, who received the association in his office today, expressed delight at the visit and for the warm remarks on the remarkable strides of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, especially on the beautiful turnaround of the State's transportation system.

Hon. Lafia appreciated the association's economic impact through their business activities and compliance on tax payment and urged them to maintain good conducts by adhering to the recommendations of the Ministry of Transportation in their dealings.

He, however, assured them of the State government's continued support and equal fair treatment to all  stakeholders in the transportation sector, while reiterating the need for the maintenance of peace and mutual collaboration as a syndicate for economic growth and prosperity in Kwara.

On his part, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alh. Salau Kabir Abdullahi, thanked the association for their pledge of solidarity to the government of the day. He reassured them of the Ministry's collaboration while advising them to ensure due compliance to the Ministry's laid down conditions, to allow swift integration of its body among the recognized stakeholders in the State transport sector.

In their separate contributions, the Director of Transportation, Planning and Coordination, Engr. Josuah Durotoye and Director of Mechanical and Building Services, Engr. Olayinka Busari, disclosed that the Ministry has been collating the database of all the transport unions and Stakeholders, advising the car dealers association to ensure their inclusion.

On his part, the President of the Kwara State Association of Car Dealers of Nigeria, Alh. AbdulRasheed Folorunsho, hailed the developmental strides of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's government, particularly on road infrastructure. He rallied for the State government's patronage on its product- vehicles, noting that the association deals with authorized vehicles with affordable prices; while emphasizing that  AMDON, remains one of the best and reliable car firms where good automobiles are accessible in Nigeria.

He, however, appreciated the previous cordial business relationship with the State government and sought for more patronage and inclusiveness in the areas of palliatives to ensure the association continues to thrive well.

Speaking earlier, the  Director for Media and Publicity, Kwara State, Car Dealers Association of Nigeria, Comrade Ibrahim Kehinde Magaji, reiterated the prominence of the association in the transport sector, noting its immense contributions to the State's economy.

Comrade Magaji, explained further that members of the Kwara Car Dealers Association, only deal with cars and all forms of automobile - Tricycle, Motorcycle, tractors and buses with duty permits and verified documents; adding that it also pay taxes and vat on renewals of plate numbers, signage and other utility, hence adding values to the State's revenue.

Also at the meeting, , were the Director of Personnel, Finance and Supply, Hajia Medinat Ajao; Director of Planning Research and Statistics, Alh. Muhammad Bello; Director of Road, Rail and Water Ways, Engr. Solomon Oyinloye and other members of AMDON.
