KWSG TO INTENSIFY EFFORTS ON ROAD SAFETY, COMPLIANCE - Lafia

The Kwara State Government has again expressed its readiness to further intensify efforts on the proper maintenance of road safety measures, strengthening compliance and ensuring adequate sustainability of the ongoing renewed transportation system in the State. The Commissioner for Transportation, Kwara State, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, disclosed this, while addressing Kwarans, today, on a radio programme at the Radio Kwara Midland FM, 99.1, Ilorin. Hon. KWEPA Warns Residents Against Dumping of Refuse in Drainages

The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) has warned residents of the State to stop dumping refuse into drainages to avoid flooding. The Acting General Manager of the Agency, Hajia Idayat Folorunsho gave the advice in Ilorin recently during the routine inspection and sensitization exercise of the Agency in some major streets and communities within the metropolis. Represented by the Head of Department, Waste Management, KWEPA, Mrs Tajudeen Fasilat Feyisayo, the Acting General Manager warned against dumping of refuse into drainages to ensure free flow of water. She said the exercise was part of the routine inspection of the Agency to sensitize the public, especially now that the rainy season has commenced, emphasizing the need for residents to make provision for toilets and warning that any building without a toilet will be sealed. 2025 Hajj: First Batch From kwara To Be Airlifted May 12

Arrangements have been completed by the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board to commence the airlift of intending pilgrims from the state, with the first batch scheduled to be airlifted on the twelfth of next month from the Ilorin International Airport to the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, made this disclosure today during the enlightenment programme organized for the intending pilgrims to this year's Hajj, held at the Board's premises in Ilorin. Alh. Abdulkadir disclosed further that vaccination for the intending pilgrims from the state will commence  tomorrow (Monday), while the distribution of uniforms is scheduled for Wednesday, and that of travelling bags will be on Friday this week.
